Algorithms Engineer – Routing

Job description

As an algorithms development engineer, you will be working in the routing team where you will be at the heart of all mobility innovations. In this team, the routing components are envisioned, designed, implemented and rolled out for the entire company. Together with the team, you will think of new ways to achieve smart routing and integrate diverse modes of transport. You will implement the technical components and ensure they are properly integrated in production.

Servicing all routing needs within Be-Mobile means a wide range of challenges and activities:

  • You will brainstorm with the team on how to accommodate specific feature requests in our routing solutions
  • You can translate and implement designed features into high-quality production code
  • You take charge in checking and testing your own (or others) work in order to get your components ready
  • You ensure all those new solutions run smoothly in our operational platforms
  • You will document the new solutions so others can easily integrate them in their own projects
  • You maintain the operational environment and a clear overview on the current deployments

As an algorithmic engineer, your most important asset is your mind. You have a problem solving algorithmic attitude to find creative solutions and you are not afraid to step up and get things done.

Additionally, we are looking for the following skillset:

  • You have some experience with Java
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English
  • As we use Go (see golang) throughout our entire stack, experience is seen as a plus
  • You use the right tool for the job and can use all kinds of supporting software e.g. git, jira, bash, …
  • You are not afraid to working with production tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins and Kafka
  • You are interested in deployment management
  • You have a positive attitude and appreciate a good, fun working environment
  • You can first make it work, then make it better
