AI Automation Engineer

Be-Mobile is a European market leader in smart mobility solutions, headquartered in Ghent. We develop and sell technological solutions for parking, fines, electronic toll collection, multi-modal route planning and electronic fare collection.

We are looking for someone who actively explores how AI can improve software quality, engineering productivity and the way software is designed, tested and delivered.

This is not a traditional QA role. You will help shape how AI and automation are applied across our engineering organization, with a strong focus on measurable impact and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Be-Mobile is looking for an AI Automation Engineer who will be responsible for:

• Identifying opportunities to improve software quality, engineering productivity and development workflows through AI and automation

• Exploring how AI can be applied throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

• Designing, building and validating AI-driven solutions that reduce manual work and improve efficiency

• Building prototypes and proof-of-concepts to evaluate new AI-assisted approaches

• Collaborating closely with QA, engineering and product teams to understand challenges and propose practical solutions

• Introducing and promoting useful AI-driven engineering practices across teams

• Evaluating emerging AI tools, frameworks and workflows and determining their practical value within Be-Mobile

• Helping establish a long-term vision for AI-assisted software quality and engineering excellence

• Monitoring and measuring the impact of AI initiatives through KPIs and continuous improvement

THE MUST-HAVES WE ARE LOOKING FOR ARE:

• Strong interest in AI, automation and modern software engineering practices

• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools and workflows

• Curiosity to actively experiment with new technologies and continuously explore new possibilities

• Experience working in software engineering environments

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to identify inefficiencies and translate ideas into practical, measurable improvements

• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders across teams

• Comfortable challenging existing processes and proposing better alternatives

• Fluent in Dutch, with a good knowledge of English

• Higher degree or equivalent experience, combined with eagerness to keep learning

• Experience with AI agents, LLMs or workflow orchestration

• Experience with QA automation or software testing practices

• Experience with tools such as Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, LangChain, n8n or similar platforms

• Experience in SaaS or product-driven software environments

• Knowledge of software quality metrics, engineering KPIs and continuous improvement methodologies
